Classic case of people acting like games are made by a single dude named Nintendo, instead of by different teams with different directors and producers working on different sub-franchises with different story beats and characterizations.

That story was always overblown. Sakamoto-led games were the ones that advertised her as a bounty hunter. Sakamoto even produced a manga where she's depicted as greedily charging extra a crisis. He knows what a bounty hunter is.

Other M makes it ABUNDANTLY clear that Adam is on a mission to destroy the splinter group, and that mission was given to him by the Federation's highest ranking official.
So if you went into Dread expecting the whole Federation to be corrupt, not just a splinter group, that's not on translation.

I know there was a viral video talking about how bad Other M butchered the translation...but almost every point in that video is bullshit. It's just a dude lying over and over again and bitching that his perosnal fan fics weren't made canon. The realty is the translation isn't very different.

Fusion literally ends with Adam assuring her that WON'T be the case because not everyone in the Federation is corrupt. And then they had the same message in Other M. Rogue group in the Federation is corrupt, not the Federation as a whole. Both of these things are present in English.
