Buckle up, my friends - wouldn't it be amazing if we were about to be able to say we were Episcopalian before it was cool??! ❤️ 😉⛪️

In a clear act of prophetic witness, Episcopal Bishop Mariann Budde used a sermon to speak openly to the President about abuse of power. 3,000 years ago, the prophet Micah instructed people to temper justice with mercy and "walk humbly with God." Jesus taught the same: LOVE justice, and DO mercy.

Thank God for friends who cook for you and let you pet their dogs when you're stuck ruminating on your recent date's appallingly bad behavior! 😂

Today on the Church calendar is the Feast of Christ the King. Many churches will sing hymns such as "Crown Him with Many Crowns." I'm curious. How do you feel about this approach to Jesus and why? I struggle with it as I do with all notions of institutional church, patriarchy and religious empire.
