I'll say this: While Zero is my favorite individual game, Cold Steel is my favorite arc.
The Cold Steel games are probably about 50% of the series just by raw playtime for me. I do think 3 & 4 were WAY too long but the payoffs were massive.
Also some of the best EN voicework in gaming over in CS3
