Perhaps. But one could argue that for him to be brilliant, he should have the political clout needed to get his bosses onboard with a footballing vision. At that level it’s never just about pure job skills, is it?

Who is the best replacement for Lange? (Or new boss, so he can focus on scouting emerging talent?)
Feels like that hire is more important than any player right now.

I think Kim Hellberg at Middlesbrough might be good one for the future. Still adapting to the English game, but was great at Hammarby (way better than Cifuentes). Fluid, attacking football, great man management. De Zerbi-esque, but a nice person.
