I'm sure you're right and I believe stone from Merseyside quarries are all Sherwood-sandstone? Or are there local names for it (like Storeton-sandstone, Woolton-sandstone etc)?

Boss! 👌 Could that fasade possibly be made of Sherwood-sandstone?

That is, according to Grok the street may have originated somewhat earlier, possibly in the late 18th century or early 19th century, when the area went from being more rural to becoming part of the city's growing center.

Sounds plausible. It struck my mind the Wirral too is named after myrtle (wir = bog myrtle/ Myrica Gale) But that was long ago. Checkn with Grok I see Myrtle Street was likely named in first half of the 1800s + might not be same type of myrtle. Still a plant of historical significance obviously.

Boss shot📷 Btw, why is it called Myrtle Street? Anyone? 🤔

Nice photo, but it's not Oslo. It's Tromsø, Northern Norway, where the northern lights tend to be way more spectacular than in southern areas. This time of year it might not be a night view either. It's dark most of the day currently. More light gradually until the sun returns around mid January. 🌞

Same as on x: Ask for a seat and prepare for a speech; "Listen, I've got some advices for you guys. Now, where shall I start? Oh yes, the disgusting so called "meat-industry"..."

And so on.

(my first bsky reply. Yay! :)
