The price and location are so incredibly good and low. This is almost a hobby dreamhouse.

This is the kind of place that made me wish I knew a couple of other like-minded people. It's a 5 BR place, which is too much for us, but would work really nicely as a shared property.

The price is low enough that it wouldn't be a hardship to own as a shared property for travel in France.

This is one of the best I've seen in a while. It's the only unrenovated house in the village, it's a short drive to the Douro, and it's reasonably priced.

My favorite thing about this one will be seeing the inevitable $100K drop in price.

Some notes on this property: This is the prime example of a bad house in an extraordinary neighborhood.

This is right on the Douro, in a popular tourist destination, and with direct access to Porto. It's a gem, still a little overpriced for the amount of work needed.

Someone has started a renovation process on this one. It has 6 potential bedrooms, and is in Aquitaine, on the Limoges to Bordeaux line.

This one sadly doesn't have any pictures of the shop. It's 2000 square feet of space, and supposedly in the town center.

By contrast: This one is 37,000 Euro, an hour from Porto, and 3 minutes from a major town.

You may need to do some work on it, but you will have the cash to do so.

Some notes on this property: It is too much money for the plot size. Every room has roof damage. There is mold in many of the rooms that will need to be addressed. I expect to see this one get a substantial price drop in the next few days.
