I’m ace & I’ve received shit talking both for & against sex. I’ve been in those trenches. I get it.

But I think it’s important that we embrace the weird when it comes to erotica & characters & we try not to attach morality or superiority to sex (or avoiding sex) in fiction or in real life.

If it was about health or statistics we would ask people drinking beer if they might regret dying or killing while intoxicated (4.7% of ☠️’s US)? Or expecting mothers if they’ll regret giving birth (5-14%)?
But folks don’t want people to stop drinking beer or giving birth.

L.A* is one of the biggest psych triggers to stall change in people.
Basically: we know what we have to lose & not what we have to gain & we naturally fear loss more than we desire gain +

I didn’t go to my first con until I was 22 & have had mad social anxiety since my teens; Luckily, nerds are all awkward in my exp, so we’re in good company! 🤣
Also-it’s okay to share you’re nervous. It can actually put people at ease & reassure them.

Also funny is the assumption that trans people don’t all have some level of insane society driven anxiety that makes them examine every choice they make from about 50 angles prior to every commitment.
