Actually, American Baseball got patched a couple years ago to add a clock to the pitch. Significantly reduced the length of games.

If on the off-chance there is a single Ascian left, its probly some low rank guy who isn't a threat and is probly living the rest of his life in a cave so he doesn't aggro the WoL who shattered his bosses into a thousand pieces and then went into the lifestream to make sure they stayed dead.

There is the Telephori. Who I got the impression was a group of Sundered Ascians, but the only known members are Fandaniel and Zenos. So it could have been just Fandaniel being a dramatic theatre nerd making a funny name for his cool guys club.

Or a nearly idential Hyur Highlander appears with a completely new wrestling gimmick, our WoL gets a single "Wait.... aren't you?" prompt before they are quickly shushed for almost breaking kayfabe.

Game as "immutable concept": Yeah, generally better to wait for game to be "finished."
Game as "a moment in time": I'm having a lot of fun exploring, building out my arsenal of weapons.
But if you wait for G-Rank, all of LR and HR will be a trudge to get to "where the game actually starts."

I mean, I like how goofy and "saturday morning cartoon" they are.... BUT! I really hope they go a different direction for next expac. Make Dawntrail have the goofy one that we can point at and have a sensible chuckle. (Also mourning the loss of job quests for every job but that's another topic)

Excited for Tsukuyomi, was one of my favorite fights back in the day. Trying to explain to people where to drop the meteors felt like pulling teeth sometimes tho...

The FF7 remake project spent a while before it found its footing. (Starting back with CyberConnect before being brought inhouse within SE themselves) So they're not the smoothest either, but I see your point with Rebirth.

The FTL society could have been from a different country on Earth, or this could have been a result of a malfunction in the FTL drive that launched them to a random planet.... Plenty of possibilities to add some fun wrinkles to the story.

Man.... I remember playing this for the first time, shoving all other units into a corner and only using Ike for every mission cause I was so scared of the permadeath...
