But then, the AI companies won't have their technocratic control over society or their potential revenue stream. They won't let AI be democratized. Either way, there will continue to be an AI bubble, because AI as a company is not what people want.

One of the issues to adoption as well, is that perhaps the people who would like to innovate using AI also value privacy and data security. Having AI owned by large corporations and oligarchs is anathema to this digital liberty. If these models ever run well on everyday devices, then perhaps...
