Criminal that these logging mafia folks get to do this with little to no social cost. At the very least, we need to name and shame them!!

How can we identify those who have a hand in this, and what else can we do to stop this from the source?

Both suppliers and buyers need to be scrutinized!!

Damn I knew deforestation was bad, but not this bad!! Truly awful that there's a whole logging Mafia willing to destroy that last bits of European forests (not to mention others around the world).

It's sad but also understandable. I've felt that frustration feeling like you're unable to make the art you want. AI seems like it's a much lower barrier to entry.

Unfortunately, even ethics and sustainability aside, it's not exact enough for me. Its far too limiting with what you can create.

Finally, breaking said rules should always come with consequences no matter the status of the individual, but should be decided in a rejuvenative and solution-oriented manner rather than a punitive one.

Alternatively, we could create and practice a plurality of governance systems that only can be made and applied to local communities who made said rules.

These can still interoperate to create large scale agreements based on federated principles.

They should be regularly reviewed by all involved.

Saying gov does good things too is like saying capitalism does good things too sometimes. Ofc it does, or it wouldn't be so good at indoctrination. But the systemic issues are endemic to the system, thus the system is bad.

This is where we disagree, lol. Democracy is fundamentally flawed precisely because it prioritizes whatever will get you 'elected' (which itself is often a very unfair process).

Ofc don't have to be anarchist to be solarpunk, but I strongly suggest people do consider why they're not anarchist.

I have SO many ideas for stories but I feel like I'm not good at writing stories, particularly because I'm more interested in worlds than characters.

Also, many fics like 1984 spent more time worldbuilding the evil stuff and almost nothing about the good stuff. So people just end up taking away ideas on what evil looks like, but little to no imagination on how to stop that or what better alternatives look like. Thus the need for solar/hopepunk.

IMO, it's enough to just highlight the evils that already exist. A big problem with a lot of fiction is the cartooonification of evil, thus making it hard to see what evil looks like IRL.

People don't realize how bad it is today, not really. Even now. Because it's largely normalized.
