If you have updated to the latest iOS, there are two new things I’ve found that are ❤️‍🔥

1. Unknown caller call filtering:
With this option selected, the phone will ask any unknown callers to state name and reason for calling before iPhone rings. If they bother to stay on the line,

This is one of the best analogies I have come across to counteract the incorrect talking point that the surge in ADHD/autism diagnoses means that it’s some kind of conspiracy to label people and pump them full of drugs to benefit the pharmaceutical companies.

The Boston President’s Day No King’s march and rally was a success! We marched from the Common to City Hall and then to/through Faneuil Hall and back to the Common. Ed Markey made an appearance, too!

There are two blue flags bearing a symbol comprising a black circle with something like an X with a line on top (making it look like it could be two triangles on top of each other meeting at the tip) symbol inscribed inside the circle, with each line of the X making a chord (math term!) within the circle. Google says it’s an “Extinction Resistance” symbol, but what that even means I don’t know. MA senator Ed Markey (Democrat) holding a megaphone and talking to and in support of the group of protestors at the far end of Faneuil Hall across the street from the City Hall plaza. Of the four signs in the picture, we can read two of them: one has all the different LGBTQ+ flags framing the poster, which says “Respect My Existence or Expect Resistance” and the other reads “The Climate is Changing, Why Aren’t [We?]”

IT'S NO ACCIDENT THAT: You learned about Helen Keller instead of W.E.B. DuBois You learned about the Watts and L.A. Riots,but not Tulsa or Wilmington. You learned that George Washington's dentures were made from wood, rather than the teeth from slaves. You learned about black ghettos, but not about Black Wall Street. You learned about the New Deal, but not "red lining." You learned about Tommie Smith's fist in the air at the 1968 Olympics, but not that he was sent home the next day and stripped of his medals. You learned about "black crime," but white criminals were never lumped together and discussed in terms of their race. You learned about "states rights" as the cause of the Civil War, but not that slavery was mentioned 80 times in the articles of secession. Privilege is having history rewritten so that you don't have to acknowledge uncomfortable facts. Racism is perpetuated by people who refuse to learn or acknowledge this reality.

The 11-year-old is giving the 5-year-old her first multiplication lesson. 11-year-old’s pedagogy is to start right out of the gate with double-digit equations. It’s a bold move, Cotton; let’s see how it plays out.
