This was achingly cool at the time, it still is, but Michael Hutchence looks so young. I’d have skipped on by now if I’d glimpsed this as a new release. Maybe I should pay more attention to the kids’ music. Give it a chance.

Yup it is. Especially as we are horribly exposed to the USA’s moronic leader’s whims and madness. Learned today that David Cameron was already in contact with Greensill (his next employer) before the Brexit vote. Make of that what you will.

I’ve lost a lot of environmental friends for the same reason. Castigated online by the left for vax doubts, they went into the open arms of the right. Now it’s all ‘chem trails’, ‘climate change is a hoax’ and ‘shadowy elite cabals’. A very slippery rabbit hole.

I hope the meds work and keep further damage at bay.
Thinking of you. xx

I feel the same. I don't approve of violence, but when I see him using foghorn tactics to drown out people confronting him with truths - I'd really like to block that gaping maw with a truck-full of quick setting cement. He's repulsive & it's so hard to understand why others can't see it.

"Taking back control" was about taking it from us as UK citizens & removing our protection under EU laws. I think we Remainers saw all this coming, but our voices got shouted down under the crazed chanting of slogans. Would love to connect & see what we can do to reverse things. Now more than ever.

Or go the other way and fear (afterwards) that you spent the assessment trying too hard to convince them. I didn't, but my head critic loves constantly whispering "are you sure?"

I'm not sure I'd agree, maybe for some not too far gone.
But in the end they become true believers of their justifying narratives. There's no guilt, they're convinced they're right.

Deep thinking? It's going to be a long, hard journey back to that.

Mine is not a serious thing but it does take some of the enjoyment out of life. I’ve had COVID three times now, and each time it’s taken more of my sense of smell. I might be more fatigued too, not sure it’s just age though.

Yep, Farage is a serious threat. Looking at the reasons (slogans) the ‘happy Trump’ people cite above, they also say the same for him. I have nightmares about Farage becoming PM. But what has he actually done (not just said) that’s improved all our lives? He’s charismatic shyster.

The interesting thing is how many of the people happy with him, recite his own slogans/propaganda as the reason.

Just the drawl in his voice makes me ill alone. But let’s feel sorry for JRM. It’s clearly hard to conceptualise how stressful the last 14 years have been for people when you’re holed up in an ivory tower.

That would be a brilliant compromise; resting the land while using it for mobile solar panels. It would be a partial solution to the problem of fertiliser use on overworked soil and the subsequent pollution of our waterways.
