Good article. My only critique is that from my own informal experience with MAGA types is that they most likely would go along with it. As one said to me, “Why should Denmark have it?” Like DJT, they don’t have a concept of strategic thinking.

That is because The Academy at the time and probably now are serious anglophiles. They had if you look at the winners and nominees you see a pattern.

That is exactly my point. Those who believed in the UE, allowing the President to be unfettered by limits on his power would be able deliver on his political promises without interference executing the “will of the people” granted to him by an election. Instead we get what we have now.

The problem with the unitary executive theory is that the president will be an elected benevolent dictator/king. Unfortunately history of dictatorships and our reality show that most dictators are like DJT, completely self absorbed and incapable of the greater good.

They are too afraid of the repercussions. Most for the business community thinks in short term gains not long term repercussions or plans. They see it but know their competitors will take advantage if they speak up. They see it as a competitive advantage to side with him.
