The Clue app that you use as an example is actually very good about avoiding language that assumes all its users are women! It's a little jarring to see those assumptions in your description.

as a kid who ice skated and did spelling bees, I remember being perplexed when this word was on a spelling list with a pronunciation completely different from the one I knew

especially when it's a screenshot of text that you could just copy-paste in! I can understand why people are sometimes unsure of how to describe photos well but when it's just text it's so easy
