this is experience, these experiences that we are expected to suffer through in silence. we’re expected to be ashamed of our history and the ways we’ve had to survive. and Cowboy Carter says no more.

so imagine. the worlds most hated black woman releases an album where she is innovates a state of vulnerability that addresses her personal experience and a collective experience that only those in the margins can EMPATHIZE (not sympathize) with.

now getting into the content fr?? it’s so vulnerable and innovative. BW know irl that the masses hate to see us thrive in this world despite how hard society works to discourage and diminish us.

that album is a JOURNEY! on a surface level just processing through the lyricism, the sounds, the vocals, the arrangements (which can vary depending on what version you’re listening do eg: vinyl, streaming, CD) took me three listens
