Side note, I am mildly obsessed with the fact that every European city has a tiny pub that they claim is the smallest in the world. More of this energy, please.

Once in MCR it was time for lunch at Frankie’s and a little city exploration. We LOVED seeing the place decked out for Pride Week, and had a delish Indian dinner at Mowgli in the Corn Exchange.

We started with a little transatlantic red eye to Manchester, via Reykjavik

After Gordito served afternoon tea on the terrace, we had dinner in the style of a British Sunday roast, buffet style, in the next town over.

Lunch at a chiringuito just opening for the season, with a pitcher of sangria and comical mishap trying to order a hamburger and winding up with a delicious plate of roasted eggplant. Humbling!

Yesterday was a perfectly relaxing beach day. The town is getting the beaches ready for tourist season, which meant a backhoe and front loader moving and evening out sand along the shore - thrilling for the toddler but less relaxing than the sound of waves crashing for the adults.

Another trip to our new favorite scoop shop, and another stunning Mediterranean sunset to go with it.
March 21, 2025 at 9:13 AM
Then it was off to the Botanic Garden to take in the view and smell the orange blossoms - a gorgeous and expansive property, and perfect way to spend the afternoon.

March 19 is Father’s Day in Spain, so while Mom and Tios did some morning yoga, @refgordo.bsky.social and Gordito took a walk to the Pueblo for churros and chocolate!
March 21, 2025 at 9:13 AM
Next up: date night! Tios graciously offered to hang out with Gordito (mushroom pizza and Pinocchio) while Mom and Dad enjoyed an incredible meal in the Pueblo. Hearts and tummies full!!

Then, after a nap to stave off the cranks, it was time for a long overdue beach trip. The grownups played a couple games of kubb, and Gordito was in HEAVEN running through the surf, digging in the sand, and watching the but backhoe adjust the boardwalk pieces nearby.

SUNSHINE, at last! We tried to take a dolphin spotting ferry ride, but the sea was too choppy from the storms, so we rode the Ferris wheel at the pier and got ourselves a delicious fish & chips lunch.

Took advantage of a break in the clouds to walk through the marina and check out the pier rides, where someone took his fire truck driving responsibility very seriously. Rainy and windy overnight, with hopes of sunny skies today!

An indulgent lunch and perfect cappuccinos before heading to the costa for a great visit to the aquarium.
March 18, 2025 at 8:51 AM
We’ve renamed the Costa del Sol the “Costa del Soggy” but are still making the best of it. Started with a morning yoga session for @refgordo.bsky.social and Tios, and pool time for Mom and Gordito (and a post-yoga dip for Dad).
March 18, 2025 at 8:51 AM
Finished the day with an evening walk into the Pueblo, where we checked out the road construction and not one but two playgrounds. Nothing beats and 3 playground day!
March 17, 2025 at 8:49 AM
Enjoyed a divine pizza lunch, and an afternoon nap for everyone!
March 17, 2025 at 8:49 AM
More rain yesterday, sprinkled with patches of bright and warm sunshine. We pivoted from our original plans and opted to explore the Parque de la Paloma.
March 17, 2025 at 8:49 AM
Home for popsicles and sunset!
March 16, 2025 at 9:20 PM
We had the most picture perfect Andalusian day yesterday! A road trip to Parauta, which boasts a lovely walk through the olive groves with fairy tale sculptures around every corner.

Leaving you with an INCREDIBLE moonrise over the Med to end the day, that photos just don’t do justice.
March 15, 2025 at 8:38 PM
Back to the playa for a delicious dinner at a Swedish restaurant, and - of course - ice cream cones, and one more playground to round out the day.
March 15, 2025 at 8:38 PM
Next stop, the shopping mall for new kicks, because someone won’t stop growing up. But shopping mall playgrounds are EPIC in Spain, so we had a blast at the playground until the downpours hit.

Yesterday, we started with a long overdue visit to the Mariposario, where we fluttered among finches, butterflies, and moths🦋
March 15, 2025 at 8:38 PM
Rain never bothered us anyway, and we made sure to jump in all of the puddles and swing by our favorite haunts. We even got to watch the city trash collection - there’s a whole dumpster buried under the rubbish bins on the sidewalk!!
