61% seems high for additional costs, but a drop to 15% in one year seems like an insurmountable cut. Would rather see some analysis on what was included in that 61% and precision cuts that make sense. Same everywhere else. The hatchet/sledgehammer approach is going to unnecessarily cripple too much.

They don’t check most things before they do them; they’re very reactionary.

Don’t forget “woke”

Agree. I don’t even watch these hearing much anymore. It’s just grandstanding and posturing instead doing a real job vetting anyone. And it’s both sides - it’s all nothing but partisanship and no one up there does their actual job anymore.

The problem is that regardless of whether these are normal times or not, Trump IS our next President. So Fetterman working with him isn’t normalizing anything per se; it’s accepting reality and doing all he can to move forward as productively as possible for his constituents.

Agree 100%. He represents ALL of his constituents, not just the ones who voted his party. Too many elected officials, even those who barely win, completely ignore constituents of the opposite party. This is really annoying to me since I’m not party affiliated; I basically have noone representing me…

Definitely a good one for the near future…

Agree - we have to lead in AI. It’s coming whether we like it or not. And agree it and the people involved were neglected these last 4 years, which was a huge mistake.

…and schools should be more affordable. The increase in price over the last 40 years has outpaced wage increases resulting in a lot more student debt than there used to be.

Good read. One question - which countries currently have UBI?
December 24, 2024 at 5:36 PM
I’m certainly willing to listen 🙂

Thanks for the recommendation

The original post was about a “winning position for Dems” and while you may be right, I also don’t think we’ve done enough to create or save jobs. So I think it’s not a “winning position” until more has been done in those areas and a larger swath of the population believes there’s no other way.

Good but I think the AI section needs more thought. I don’t think UBI is a winning position; it may be needed, but it should be a last resort, & I think many would agree. Instead we need to create new jobs or bring back jobs that have been lost, e.g. repair jobs vs the throwaway culture we have now

I’d have to think about the high frequency trading tax. I’d add removing the limit on social security tax. Others sound like a good start.
