Multiple people have emailed me to ask me to share my writing with them. I'm afraid I can't do this. Please read my reply, below, to one of the people who asked.
I feel very deeply for your desire to read more of my work. I especially feel it because I have to refuse you: I really do need to keep the name Etherwind separate from who I am today. While there are many kind people in the world who are understanding of fault and accepting of change, there are far more who refuse to understand and who, for painfully human reasons, deny the possibility of change. There were things I said and did under the Etherwind name that, while relatively small in the grand scheme of things, would not be small to a lot of people. And there are people out there who are so breathtakingly cynical that, no matter what they believe internally, externally they would use my past to paint me as irredeemable, my work thereby tainted, anyone who enjoys it fundamentally flawed. They would do this for money, or for competition, or simply for clout. Some would doubtless say I should be accountable for my past. I'd argue that accountability is only just where there is the possibility of penance, of forgiveness. The world we live in today is so consumed by anxiety that it subsists on spite, and spite cannot permit penance. So, why subject myself to that, when it would result in pain for the sake of pain? I sincerely hope you stumble into my work and recognise me in it. Unfortunately, I cannot facilitate this for you. Best, Etherwind
