Regardless of what your thoughts might be on AI, it's here and it isn't going away anytime soon. Students should know how to effectively use AI, and being taught the basics could be essential for the future.
For colleagues exploring #AIinEDU, a paraphrased comment from a workshop with teachers while referencing the MLA/CCCC "Student Guide to AI Literacy" (style.mla.org/student-guid...): "Few students would use AI in such a nuanced manner. They want to use it to cheat." Please help me refute this claim.

When utilising any AI models, be sure not to input any sensitive information. These systems do not necessarily store the information safely, and they may be susceptible to data breaches - be smart about how you use them!

The European Commission has released the "first draft of the General-Purpose [AI] Code of Practice", an interesting insight into how other lawmakers might regulate AI in future - recommend having a read!

- Acknowledge AI use in citations.

- Ensure all work is your own.
