Kids of today will have to work until they are 70. Having fun at uni, getting to know themselves and making lifelong friends is key. Any educational gain along the way is a bonus. Let them have some fun.

The right wing narrative is that the UK will be a land of milk and honey for all if only we can be rid of the pesky migrants. Reform voters will be so disappointed but, as with Brexit, will deny reality and that is pretty much what Farage relies on, the cult like level of ignorance and denial.

Badenoch is spouting 40 billion in welfare and civil service cuts this morning. Nowhere is it mentioned that, even if that pie in the sky figure was achieved, that it is only 50% of the 80 billion we no longer collect in tax as a result of Brexit.

The elephant in the room for all to see is Brexit. It took 4% of GDP and is ongoing and systemic.. The notion that it was a one off event is nonsense. It chips away with each passing year. But since truth globally no longer seems to matter then pointing out an obvious fact achieves little purpose.

Dan, applicants knew their bio data was checked on EU database, past applications identified and a chance of removal. Now potential applicants from 26 Member States know for sure they get a second bite of the cherry in UK. Deterrents cannot always be quantified but logic dictates there was one.

Dan. The Dublin Convention was a deterrent supported by Eurodac which identified repeat asylum seekers. Philp and co talk up the value of Rwanda, 500 people, as a deterrent. Do not fall into the trap of underestimating the impact of Brexit based on actual figures.

In 1963 Martin Luther King wished for a world where people would not be judged by the color of their skin but the content of their character. In 2025 the Trump Supreme Court opined that people would be judged by skin color. We can all see the content of the character of Trump and his acolytes.

Brexit empowered and encouraged racists to believe such behaviour is acceptable. It moved the Overton window and the genie is out of the bottle. It ended decent behaviour in the UK by those who until that time felt reluctant to express such views in public. We are on a slippery slope to mob rule.
