After Black Summer, everything around us in the Blue Mountains was incinerated, followed by weeks of rain. The topsoil was just washed away. It has taken years for some places to even get grass to grow. Some hillsides are just bare. Ecosystems can’t just “bounce back” from relentless crisis.

Thank you, and all firefighters, for your incredible service. I can't imagine what you must face.

"Mark from Kennett River" put it in a nutshell.

This is what we've already got with current climate change which is already unsustainable in certain areas.

Yet our fed govt still does reactive bandaid fixes, effectively ignores climate change & is still BAU in long "transition" using fossil fuels🤬

Climate change fuelled disasters are not a threat on the horizon, we're now living through them, with gut-wrenching monotony. How bad will things get? That depends on who we choose to represent us and how they behave if and when in government. 👋 @albomp.bsky.social.

I tried to warn people. They even signalled it.

Labor is little better than the other mob when it comes to emissions.

It's not as if many people haven't been shouting from the rooftops about climate change. Even rooftops won't be safe soon.
