🩸 Type 1 diabetes (#T1D) is a lifelong autoimmune disease with rising prevalence across Europe. While insulin therapy enables survival, it doesn’t treat the root cause. Promising disease-modifying therapies (DMTs) could revolutionise care - but early detection is key.

We believe awareness leads to action. Let’s help spread the word and make early detection the norm, not the exception.

Each year, thousands of children are diagnosed with T1D without warning. Yet, a simple test using just a few drops of blood can detect the condition early.

That means:
✅ More time for families to understand the disease
✅ Better glycaemic control
✅ Lower risk of long-term complications

Their mission: to screen 200,000 children across Europe for early-stage T1D.

📊 Dr Jill Farrington (WHO Regional Office for Europe) highlighted how data can monitor progress toward the WHO Global Diabetes Targets.
