🩸 Type 1 diabetes (#T1D) is a lifelong autoimmune disease with rising prevalence across Europe. While insulin therapy enables survival, it doesn’t treat the root cause. Promising disease-modifying therapies (DMTs) could revolutionise care - but early detection is key.

Organised under the auspices of the Danish Presidency of the Council of the EU 2025, in collaboration with our partners from EDENT1FI, the event is hosted by MEP Stine Bosse and moderated by Prof. Chantal Mathieu.

“It’s in your hands” campaign is a call to action - raising awareness about the importance of early detection and empowering families to make it a routine part of preventive care.

We believe awareness leads to action. Let’s help spread the word and make early detection the norm, not the exception.

Each year, thousands of children are diagnosed with T1D without warning. Yet, a simple test using just a few drops of blood can detect the condition early.

That means:
✅ More time for families to understand the disease
✅ Better glycaemic control
✅ Lower risk of long-term complications

🔴 IT’S IN YOUR HANDS

🩸We are proud to support the powerful campaign launched by our partner, EDENT1FI - a European consortium dedicated to transforming the future of type 1 diabetes (T1D) care.

Their mission: to screen 200,000 children across Europe for early-stage T1D.
