My easy trick for not posting things I see on χitter is to not go there. Deleted my account years ago.

As much as I loathe sans-serif fonts for their poor legibility, they've at least brought us terrible AI/Al puns. Which isn't really a redeeming feature.

Hidden handles could be done mechanically, with an over-center mechanism. Electronic handles are even dumber than they first appear.

Grid-forming inverters are a bit more expensive than grid-following. Synchronous condensers could be useful for rapid transient response, but are very expensive. Fortunately it should be possible to convert any of the old generators from gas or coal plants to be synchronous condensers!

Yes. It's OpenSSL. That API was terrible in 1.x, and anyone used to working on such a codebase clearly ends up permanently damaged.

And white. As much as I don't want it to be, it's important: ICE are shooting the white people too.

Identifying them, probably. Police at least have badges with names & numbers, ICE thugs don't, for exactly this reason.

I used to get that feeling. Thanks to proprietary standards I still do sometimes. Or just badly written ones. SAE J-1979 comes to mind.

Ethernet works at radio frequencies. Those twisted pairs are transmission lines. RF voodoo applies, but has usually been handled for you by the system designers. Until the cable or connectors degrade. Then black magic problems show up, and *all* the parasitics matter.

Serioes or silly?

Silly: "tongue collider" is a pseudo-technical name for a style of kiss.

Serious: 3D modeling software isn't like mCAD software, objects aren't solid. You have to build geometry so they don't pass through one another, that checks collisions. Colliders. For tongues.

Soaps are salts of faty acids, detergents are mixtures of surfactants (possibly with other compounds). All soaps are surfactants, but not all surfactants are soaps. In a dishwasher you want to use non-soap surfactants, because soaps foam up excessively. Colloquial vs chemical nomenclature confusion

Kids aren't mature enough to make binding decisions, like the decision to accept Jesus. Only adults can be Saved. All children are going to Hell. Therefore, that 5 year old was tainted by original sin and clearly deserved this. /s

Detergent. Never use soap in the dishwasher, it'll foam up and leak through all the seals, flooding your kitchen. They're chemically distinct categories, and the difference matters in this case.

The manual doesn't mention this, but if you've got a chopper it can get clogged by things like broken glass or plastic labels. And biofilms can build up in areas where the jets don't reach. Cleaning the sump can be a dramatic improvement.

Pizza is usually disc shaped. Pizza is floppy. Nobody calls pizza a floppy disc.

And that's part of why I swapped to Kagi. No ads is the other part, I dislike being the product. I'd rather pay & be the customer.
