I'm Eunice Lehmacher and I'm running for the US House of Representatives District 3 in South Carolina. I'm fighting for the many, not the money. Freedom over fear and Hope over hate.
On a cold and gloomy day this dried flower bouquet from Farm Girl Deliveries is giving me joy. I love the colors, beauty of the flowers and the farmers I know from Six Mile. It reminds me of their farm and the many fresh vegetables I get from them every summer.

What gives you joy in dark times?

Today marks the beginning of our 100th celebration of Black History Month in the US (formerly Negro History week). What are you doing to remember and honor our shared history? I've been listening to James Baldwin. His words are so fitting for today.

"Hope is invented everyday." Baldwin

When Eunice told me she is going to challenge Sheri Biggs, I was pleased but not surprised. That’s what Eunice does. She courageously steps up for her community and nation. I know her and I trust her to be an unwavering voice of reason and fight for our values while putting the people of SC first.

Did you know 41 of the 46 counties in South Carolina are designated as health care professional shortage areas? As a psychotherapist myself, I can confirm that there aren't enough therapists to meet the demand in SC and around the country.

The essential ingredient of all struggles for justice are human beings who, if only for a moment, if only while beset with fears, step out of line and do SOMETHING, however small. And even the smallest, most unheroic of acts adds to the store of kindling that may be ignited...into change. H. Zinn

Alex Jeffrey Pretti was an ICU nurse at a VA hospital. His life, through his profession, was dedicated to serving his community and our country.

As so many have now seen on video, his final act before he was killed by federal agents was doing everything in his power to protect his community.

The Big B Bill allocated 45 billion to increase detention capacity. That's more than enough money to fund the entire school lunch program or the entire Childrens Insurance Health Program (CHIP) or all of the Section 8 Housing vouchers.

I prefer food, health and homes to more jails.

The average household electricity bill in the US was 6.7% more expensive in 2025 compared with the previous year, according the Energy Information Administration (EIA). The increases meant that, on average, US households paid nearly $116 more across 2025 than they did in 2024.

Policy on renewable energy is putting the US behind China and most other countries. Cheap clean fuel going up worldwide including in the US. But slower adoption here due to government choices. I will vote for subsides for renewables and removing subsidy for fossil fuels.
"Last year China installed more than half of all wind and solar added globally. In May alone, it added enough renewable energy to power Poland, installing solar panels at a rate of roughly 100 every second."

Includes photographs of working Chinese wind farms.

In 2026 there were 2 murders in Minneapolis, one by ICE. The crime rate in Minneapolis shows a reduction in crime in every category between 2019 -2024 (last year statistics available).

ICE is not in Minneapolis to make people safer. Their presence there makes the city less safe.
In @nytopinion.nytimes.com

The surge of federal forces into Minneapolis “is about an administration declaring — explicitly, at times — that the purpose of federal law enforcement isn’t to uphold the rule of law or promote public safety but to enforce the will of a single man,” Radley Balko writes.

I support international law that respects national boundaries. Where is the voice of Congresswoman Biggs and Senators Graham and Scott on this matter? Represent us or move over!

The most valuable asset on Greenland is the two mile sheet of ice on the ground/rock there. If it all melts the sea level goes up by 23 feet!

We need to move away from expensive dirty energy to cheap clean energy. It's good for our health, our pocket book and our future.
