former philosopher. current astorian. future smart person. health care engineer, just some dude. he/they. go big red.
The trick is that co-op boards are overwhelmingly white, ancient, and unrelentingly hostile to their neighborhoods

it may become cool in a different way! movie practical special effects work like this a lot, where if you know how it's done it can change the way you appreciate it. but this is different from AI videos, where if you learn it's done by AI it doesn't reveal a different way to appreciate it, really.

if it's fake it's not cool, because it's someone trying to convince you it's real, when it is in fact not real. ex: good photographers can make staged things look spontaneous, but that's a particular skill, and if you know how it works it does lose some of the je ne sais quoi that makes it cool

i am this way about polar seltzer. it made me buy the polar winter limited edition brown sugar clementine which is one of the strangest tasting things i've ever had. i ended up using it as a mixer where it excelled.

Gut intuition says they should be sitting ducks but history says otherwise, so maybe intuition should be regarded with skepticism. I don't know I'm just a humble country philosopher.

a lot of devs (and indeed companies) seriously struggle with this, which is why, yeah, a lot of humanities graduates (I have my graduate degrees in philosophy, so speaking from experience) *do* succeed in the industry, even without LLM tools

the problem with software is almost never the code, it's knowing what needs to be built, and a lot of companies and developers don't get that they aren't solving technical problems, so who can see the big picture and engage with that is gonna succeed over someone focused on code details every time

to thread the needle it's very possible there was an implied quid pro quo, or at least some dangled implications, from one side or the other, and cuellar just decided to not (also explains jeffries defending the pardon, mostly, which ties up that little oddity of it all)
