Another great existentialist movie played perfectly by Gary Oldman and Tim Roth, perfectly on the brink of absurdism and meta-realism. Some really fun scenes as well, and overall well written. These boys might be kind of gay for each other :3

Sometimes funny, sometimes even horrifying. I was more entertained by the notion of not really knowing what was happening, but I still could understand the social and satirical critique of the bourgeois during Franco's dictatorship. A beautiful kind of bewilderment.

Nice soundtrack, but holy shit this movie is so fucking obnoxious, especially in the first half. Animated characters constantly moving, making sound, being a nuisance in the back and foreground. The plot is about as weird and nonsensical as it can be.

A great coming of age story that also manages to capture the vibe and aesthetic of late 2000s, with the AOL messaging (it was MSN for me), the old YouTube site, ending and renewing friendships, trying to fit with the cool guys, learning to love your mother and family.

The equivalent of a mesmerizing fever dream, a gigantic "what the fuck is the meaning of all this" but with enough artistry to bypass whatever was the intricate plot, a meticulous vision from director Mamoru Oshii with stunning animation and visuals.

Besides being essentially a rape-and-revenge movies, of which I'm not very fond of, the director of Babadook still managed to make a compelling and emotional story that also revolves around racial violence in Australia. Great performances but weak screenplay.

Sauceless and extremely forgettable whodunit that has a couple of nice things about it (Rachel Sennott is pretty funny) but ultimately wasting away something that could've had more substance to it, or something more interesting to say.

Was expecting some kind of Guy Ritchie-esque zany crime comedy, but got surprised by how violent it is all throughout. A fun film where it looks like everybody had a good time working on it, surprised that Darren Aronosfky directed this.

A maximalist tragicomedy about the life of a woman and the men who constantly wronged her. Could've used a bit of trimming in the runtime, but it goes absolutely crazy in its presentation and in the energetic performance of Miki Nakatani.

This is a film that should be talked about more than it needs to, it's very well crafted, expertly photographed with some incredible shots, has many interesting characters to sympathize with and a killer performance by Robert Walker as the sociopathic villain.

More entertaining than I thought, especially in the first half where they keep it something mockumentary found footage like. The second half is just shock value and exploitation, made infamous by the real killings of various animals such as a turtle, a pig and monkeys

"The Neon Demon" mixed with "The Substance", a descent into cosmetic-induced nightmare with incredible visuals and colors popping out in every different shades, a beautiful picture that portrays that's as artificial as the main character's life and personality.

Feels like a Dario Argento movie directed by someone else, but there's enough to make it still one of his recognizable works, like the use of glass, puppets and the vibrant colors all throughout. It gets messy and confusing towards the end, but good Goblin soundtrack.

My yearly rewatch of one of my favorite movies ever. I just noticed how stereotyped some of the flowers in the second segment are. The Pastoral Symphony is my least favorite of them all, on the contrary the Night on Bald Mountain and Ave Maria segment still rips.
