Guys if you can donate to your local rescues right now - be that humane society, tiny one-man rescue, or otherwise - please do.

Things are really fucking bad. NC is the 2nd worst state for shelter kill rate, there's shelters that put down 90% of their cats here.

I've heard similar stories of soldiers looting tombstones from Iraq. I'm sure more will turn up in upcoming years.

Incredible journey. This Roman tombstone has travelled further than the man it commemorates. It seems to have come to New Orleans probably through post WW2 looting.

Indeed, eventually I will trap a cat where the outcome is going to be a sad one. That hasn't happened yet, but I need to do more TNR work this month.

I'm not a member of their rescue, as I mentioned in the original post I was sharing for a friend. All of us in NC rescue work and communicate together though. It's a tough state, the 2nd highest kill rates in the US.

Hi everyone, I have a very sad update about Molly. Unfortunately Molly's tumors (it was two) rapidly grew in the days leading up to the examination and had already metastasized to her lungs. Molly was humanely euthanized yesterday in her foster's arms.

Thank you all who shared.

We are providing an update on Molly's condition, which has been a heartbreaking experience for us. On Tuesday, Molly was examined by a veterinarian, who found that her tumor had grown significantly since a week earlier. Unfortunately, the news we received was not good, and it has taken us a few days to process. The biopsy results revealed two tumors with biopsy showing cancerous cells, indicating a highly aggressive cancer that had already metastasized to her lungs. Given the advanced stage of the cancer, the veterinarian recommended that we allow Molly to pass away peacefully over the Rainbow Bridge. This decision was extremely hard for all of us, and we are still trying to come to terms with the loss of such a sweet and loving cat. The veterinarian estimated Molly's age to be around 12 years, with a rapid decline in her health. We are struggling to find the right words to express our emotions in this post. Molly has indeed crossed over the Rainbow Bridge, and we are grateful for the loving care she received from the kind lady who found her and stayed with her holding her in her arms and showing her so much love as she crossed the Rainbow Bridge. We would like to express our appreciation to everyone who asked about Molly and showed concern for her well-being. We also appreciate the donations made towards her care.
