Musk isn't "slinking away". He already checked all of his boxes. He dismantled all of the investigations into his malfeasance. He accessed all of the federal government's data and probably copied it. Likely also installed backdoors so he could exfiltrate or spy on new data at will.

The problem with focusing on the felony convictions is that it highlights his "immunity" with a reminder that he suffered no consequences. We need to point to some evidence that he paid a price for his wrongdoing for it to matter.

Also, his math comes out to 52k/yr per teacher total cost. A teacher taking home something like 25k/yr in Fairfax county would be living in the streets.
