Proposed behavioural–mechanical relationship between fire-blowing and chin development in early Homo sapiens. Illustration shows perioral muscular activity—orbicularis oris, mentalis, and depressor labii inferioris— involved in producing pursed-lip airflow, with resulting directional strain (grey arrow) toward the fire. Morphology reflects transitional traits observed in fossils from Jebel Irhoud and Herto.
