i have been saying this in the regards to the UK film and tv industry and the absolute lack of representation. it’s beginning to really upset me because it’s like 99% of writers in this country don’t think about immigrants who are everywhere. everyone in London has a different accent.

We need to show more solidarity towards these charities and lawyers. We cannot push enough people under the bus, to make nazis shut up. What shuts them up is showing them that we are the majority that they don't recognize because of our superficial differences.

The new Renters Bill needs to ban landlords from requiring a guarantor. I'm (almost) a 30yo with over 10 years of renting experience, a grown-ass woman who can prove her salary... requiring a guarantor is a straight up discrimination on class and racism/xenophobic grounds.

sold!!! i made it for myself after a break up (a second cardigan i have ever done; the first one is with my ex) and unsure how i feel about it but the truth is it was too big for me and i needed money so…
moving out to Brighton soon and turns out a mattress or a sofa bed are expensive purchases so i am once again offering someone to buy it because i don’t wear it enough. it deserves to be worn. it’s probably a good XL size, i’m normally an M and it’s too oversize on me. took me 2 months to make.

a thought: minimum wage should allow people for basics like: a safe house (not sharing an HMO); healthy food; bills; some savings. the idea that minimum wage doesn’t allow for that + (in theory) the maximum no of hours one can work is 48? everyone has to work 2 jobs these days to keep afloat.

4 years ago I was presenting (online, awfully stuttering) my essay idea to Laura Mulvey and then she was a second marker on one of my essays at Birkbeck. and now I had the pleasure of making season artwork for the upcoming retrospective of her work at the British Film Institute this autumn! :)

i just have this fear that my life will never get better. that i will always have to flatshare or live in damp flats. i have been outpriced from London and Brighton is a damp city. literally what am i supposed to do other than despair.

i need an immigrant older than 30yo to tell me than it does get better. cause after 10 years of working my ass off and barely being able to afford rental of a small (damp) studio in Brighton with 0 prospects to ever afford mortgage is getting to me. mental health is at all time bad.
