I got to meet and hang out with some amazing people this event. Much like the #1 “good answer,” the best thing about speedrunning really is the community. I’m promising that the next event I attend, I will try to get good enough to submit something or become a volunteer (or both).

3. The one that introduced me to MMOs. Countless hours poured into this game. Not having an allowance made paying monthly for some games not possible - GW fixed that. Saw a friend playing and I was hooked. The writing is phenomenal, the art is breathtaking, and the world is magical.

2. I went back and forth with which Game Boy game would take a higher spot (the other could come back later) but I ultimately settled on Pokemon Red as one of the earliest games I played as a kid. I distinctly remember farming rare candies and taking my level 100 Blastoise all the way through E4.

1. Starting off strong with a banger. The first Zelda game I ever played and finished. Still to this day my favorite Zelda of the series and one of my all time favorite games in general. Everything from music to art to gameplay to story is just so awesome and cute and fun.
