Went back to circular orbits and while I haven't gotten to an equation of the form "R = [math that doesn't have an R in it]", I did manage to make a pretty simple parametric equation that, if manually solved, gives the radius.
As a bonus, I also found out how to get a Solver(tm) in the spreadsheet

And now, since I no longer have to worry about damaging my future audition chances, I can tell the story of the other half. I can't really release video 2, but hopefully what I've shared here makes it seem as cool as I thought it was.

This all culminated in the greatest reveal, which was that the whole video itself was unedited, and I was actually puppeting OBS for all the effects and interactions in a single live take. This was the audition's finest moment, and I'm proud I pulled it off both mechanically and narratively.

To get around that struggle, I focused the video on demonstrating technical things I created, like EXCELLS and my glasses. The thought was that, even if I can't describe myself well, I can describe the things I made well, and those would describe me by proxy.

The second half was a 2-minute self introduction tailored to the application. The speech was extremely agonizing, as I struggle with the balance between the formal need to make myself look good and my instinct to avoid disappointing people by lowering expectations about myself as far as possible.

Ascella was still acting as an official VCS mentor at the time, so I confided my desire to apply and they would give me advice and encouragement throughout the month as I worked on my application, despite them being super busy with several other projects as usual.

I can't really decide what I think of my photo work over the course of this. I alternated between very dark contrast and softer ambience and they each have their own appeal. Maybe it's ideal that I alternated between the two styles to mix it up a bit.

When I went to gather these thumbnails, I was surprised at how few there were. But then again, every 4 thumbnails is about one month of time, so the number of thumbnails doesn't match how long it felt for me to do.
