Cutting foreign aid, demonizing immigrants, attacking environmental protections, banning abortion, and stirring up far-right supporters—these were the exaggerated ‘jokes’ back then.

MAD Magazine has always been known for its brutal satire, but this one from 1996 about a certain far-right candidate feels disturbingly relevant today. It was meant to mock the extremes of the time, but look at where we are now.
