If you want my vote, you have to work for it.
ReformLtd need not apply.

Don't bother to DM me, I can't be bothered with this "prove your age" power grab crap.
"Just"?

They're getting stooges into our governments!

OK, maybe too strong a word.

Read it as "gone from office" if you prefer.

It will happen sooner or later, he's not immortal no matter how many blasphemous memes he posts.

Boris Johnson destroyed much of our international reputation here in the UK, too.

It's going to take a long time to regain the trust of our EU neighbours.

And that's assuming that Farage doesn't get in and destroy what little trust we have left.

This time around, they seem to be trying a shotgun approach involving many countries.

Italy, Germany, France, the UK and several other countries are all seeing right-wing fascism on the rise.

Anarchy simply leads to gang warfare and "might is right". Peaceful anarchy is possible in small communities, but above a certain threshold there's always some predator type who wants to take control.

True about the 2nd - and I think some of you guys are getting near the militia stage.
December 5, 2025 at 1:41 PM
Individuals cannot stand alone against a heavily armed group working together.

Somebody needs to organise the militias as set out in the constitution.
But that could easily turn into a massacre if they're up against a trained military.

Which is undoubtedly why the 🍊 wants armies on the streets.

How to prevent it happening again.

Germany made changes post-Hitler, so it is possible.
December 5, 2025 at 1:32 PM
It should be.
But it didn't work.
December 5, 2025 at 1:31 PM
Maybe the class needed a resit?

I'm not holding my breath, though.
December 5, 2025 at 1:30 PM
But if they had such a majority with the power to enact changes, would they use it?

The production life of a model is fairly short (maybe 3 years between updates, max?) so it's feasible to squeeze in another generation or 2 of ICE models.

Many are already available as hybrid or electric variants. It's not going to be difficult to switch to drop the ICE-only option at the last min

I think it's more a case that the IQ test can't test intelligence alone.

It's testing for education, along with several other factors, too. These skew the result, which explains the country-by-country deviations in your link.

> It gets worse when promises get bundled together into huge bills, which are often far too large for most people to bother reading, and allows much nastiness to be embedded without scrutiny.

The BBB is a perfect example.

Did many US citizens actually vote to lose their own healthcare? Unlikely.
December 5, 2025 at 6:52 AM
The problem with this supposition is that voters don't vote directly on laws, they vote on people (here in the UK, they vote for parties, which I think can be even worse).

When voting, they trust the candidates to enact good laws. There isn't anything to stop the candidate betraying that trust. >
December 5, 2025 at 6:48 AM
The model is way off.

IQ works on a bell curve where most people are average IQ.
Once statistically significant, larger sample sizes don't move the average

Education is a different matter.
It's far too easy to be high-IQ but uneducated. That's wasted potential, but some governments prefer it.
December 5, 2025 at 6:41 AM
Why?

If I'm being disparaging, there are better ways to do it. 😉
December 5, 2025 at 6:22 AM
It's certainly true that people are attracted to charismatic and entertaining people, over competent but steady ones.

We have the same problem here in the UK - Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage are engaging characters, but were and always would be a disaster in power.
December 5, 2025 at 6:20 AM
It failed to prevent it.
So clearly, it's insufficient to rely on voting alone.
December 5, 2025 at 6:15 AM
He's been able to ride roughshod all over your constitution, for a start.

He's been found to have abused executive power many times.

The main flaw is that while he's been determined to have broken laws, there have been no consequences for doing so.
December 5, 2025 at 6:13 AM
Ah, I see what you were getting at, now.
My bad, too many comments to read them all in context. My question really seems to have got a lot of interest.

There definitely needs to be a change to the way judges get appointed to the SC.
It needs to be on the basis of their law abilities, not politics
December 5, 2025 at 6:10 AM
The first change surely has to be that anybody convicted of a felony cannot stand for President in the first place.

Maybe also require release of birth certificate and tax records of all candidates.

Stop the rot before it gains power.
Doesn't prevent a corruptible stooge being put in, obvs.
December 5, 2025 at 6:04 AM
Germany changed its voting system after Hitler.

It can be done.
December 5, 2025 at 5:56 AM
What makes you think it's Biden's job to get rid of them?
December 5, 2025 at 5:52 AM
Ah, yes, I remember it well.... 🙄
December 5, 2025 at 5:47 AM
Sooner or later, one way or another, Trump WILL be out of office, along with his entire cabal.

The basis of my scenario is that the US has a decent government again.

Since Trump has exposed the flaws in the system, can the USA make the changes to ensure that they cannot be abused again?
