Weather has not been great lately but tonight I managed to grab an hour of clear skies. Captured C33 using 200 20sec exposures at gain 60 on the Dwarf 3. Processed in Megastack then Pixinsight.

Happy Birthday to the supernovae that created M1, the Crab Nebula. It occurred on July 4th 1054 and was recorded by Chinese astronomers.

Lots of sunspots on the Sun today. All are stable with no flares predicted.

Whirlpool Galaxy was taken from Exeter Observatory with the Dwarf 3 smart scope. It is 31 million lightyears (9.5 megaparsecs/Mpc) away and 23.58 kiloparsecs (76,900 ly) in diameter.
