I know. Sometimes just thinking about my babies who have moved on. . .

Little Broken Beak and having her dinner.

We watch mostly noir, neo noir and classic horror/sci-fi and last night we watched Freaky Tales, which I found to have a wonderful beginning and kind of enjoyable, if calculated following sequences. I couldn't shake the feeling that I was watching an updated, funkier Love Actually.

It's rough here.

Hola from California. 😊

I lived in Dripping Springs once upon a time. Gorgeous there.

Right? And no one ever worried about it.

Check out the Genie in the old Fleischer Brothers cartoon where Popeye plays Aladdin. Very gay genie. No one cared.

Zoom in for the rather disturbing detail - machine parts and bronzed dismembered baby dolls.

I was reminiscing about the past LA days with an old 70s feral pal and we were trying to explain Chicken Boy to my husband, who taught at George Washington Law for 22 years. Some shit is so inimical to geography that you just can't begin to explain it to someone raised in a different time/place.

Here's little Broken Beak eating millet. I watch for her every day, just to make sure she's eating. Worried about her ability to feed her nestlings next spring.

My favorite Dulac, from the Rubaiat of Omar Khayyam.

I truly feel your pain.

RIP old man, left us at 28.

He's on top of everything.

Poor little bird who is missing the top portion of her beak. She seems to be quite active and appears to be enjoying her sunflower seeds.

My husband got me a bird feeder cam for my birthday installed it yesterday. Big on the wish list. So many sweet little guys visiting. I saw that one particularly scrappy wren is missing his upper beak and cried when I saw his injury but he seems to be doing well. I'll try to post a video of him.

Ha! Throw in some ruins and a storm, riding a a rearing stallion in a tattered gown. Gothic!

I love this shit!
