Neat looking mushrooms that I have seen this week. I don’t know enough about mycology to try and name them. #nature #Cambridge #mushrooms
A tight cluster of mushrooms growing in the green grass. The mushrooms tops are gradients of chestnut brown to pale yellow and a bit shiny. Some the ones at the back have a cracked surface with the paler colour showing through. A single white mushroom growing up out of the green grass. It is tall and narrow in shape and has a slight feathered texture on the sides. Two little brown mushrooms growing in the green grass, moss and clover. The smaller mushroom is dark brown around the edge and lighter in the centre. The larger mushroom behind is mid and pale brown in faint alternating rings. A little round cream coloured mushroom growing out of a small patch of dark brown dirt, surrounded by twigs and various green and brown leaves.

Underneath an oak tree.
An oak twig with several green leaves still attached sits on the green grass. The underside of the oak leaves are facing up there are water drops on them left by the rain. A close-up looking along the length of one of the green oak leaves from the tip to the twig. You can see the vein structure of the leaf, and some of the leaf edges on the bottom left are starting to turn brown. It has six domed drops of rain water on it that are catching the light. A mix of various shades of brown leaves, twigs, misshapen and broken acorns, acorn tops, knocker galls, and a pale wood chip on the green grass and dark dirt. On the mossy grass is a small green oak leaf, underside up. An empty half husk of an acorn, its insides look soft, fiberres, and dark brown. A tiny nub of an acorn that did not really grow, its small grey cap being the larger part of it.

Insects and berries from lunch break today. #wildlife ##Cambridge
A Blue-tailed Dameselfly sitting on a brown dried leaf. Five black and yellow banded Cinnabar Moth Caterpillars on a Ragwort plant. Several red and one black bramble berries. There are some empty stems where other berries have already gone from. Speckled Wood butterfly perched on a small yellow fruit in the green grass. The little butterfly is a soft brown colour with white spots along the edges of its wings. I think the fruit is a kind of ornamental plumb.

I saw the Jesus College Roe Deer today. This is in central Cambridge city. The general concensus is that he found he way in during lockdown. #wildlife #Cambridge

Hawthorn blossom near my workplace this week.
Lots of clumps of small white hawthorn flowers and white flower buds against the dark green hawthorn leaves. A close-up of a clump of hawthorn blossoms. Small white flowers with 5 petals. Some of the flower centres look yellow, and others pinkish.
