I admire Corbyn and wish more politicians had his integrity and compassion but he should have done more to pass the torch on after 2019. Rightly or wrongly he was finished after that. There’s no going back - the Left in the UK has to move on to survive.

Went to the Topography of Terror museum in Berlin last week which lays out how the Nazis used propaganda, intimidation and ultimately violence to consolidate their rule.

Hard to read the news every day at the moment and not constantly draw parallels.

It’s completely insane that Liverpool are being painted as the bad guys in the Isak saga. They’ve done nothing but bid for a player they were told was available. It’s not their fault Newcastle changed their minds and didn’t tell anyone, including the player.

Tricky one with Isak and Newcastle. He’s signed a contract, they should be allowed to hold him to it. But you suspect they’re able to sign these players in the first place because they’ve been told it can be a stepping stone. Got to respect the food chain, to a certain degree.

Florian Wirtz is a dream signing. Elite in the numbers, tactical flexible, proven track record, still only 22 and most importantly, he’s a beautiful player to watch.
