A wee trip on a previous generation of Berlin double deckers (including an encounter with the latest one). These were the first to be low floor in the mid-90s. Quite remarkable how airy and open the staircases were compared to the two subsequent models.

All it takes is the Cobras having issues… 😉 (Well, that’s what it took in 2019; today, there’d be enough Flexity to cover.)

Accessibility has come to the small Woltersdorf tram line just east of Berlin as its new low-floor trams enter service today. Built by Modertrans in Poland, four of them replace an ageing fleet of Gotha four-wheelers. Charming as they were, it’s good to see the service made more inclusive!

A very chilly final day at the end of December for Karlsruhe’s Turmberg funicular, which will (likely) be rebuilt and extended to connect with the city’s tram network.

Nice to see Deutsche Bahn’s latest Europe-liveried ICE recently, one of the first sets to feature the operator’s new interior design. It’s primarily allocated to Frankfurt–Cologne–Brussels/Amsterdam services, so you may well see it right next to a TGV!
