I don't think someone consuming sexual content in private every so often Is dangerous, but when people start becoming very public about it, or they are increasingly consuming it more and more often, then a problem is probably starting to form.

I guess I can't argue with that. I just think people should get help for porn addiction and that porn is generally immoral to some degree. my opinion honestly isn't too complicated

Yes, because porn addiction is so bad that any attempt to quit would be a net positive even a shitty attempt with flawed methodology.

Its a net positive because it encourages people to understand that it's a problem and seek help, but it's also flawed and suboptimal to say the least.

You're right, nofap encourages going completely cold turkey instead of gradual progress and heavily shames any sort of "relapse" no matter how small, as if it was a complete failure. I definitely agree with you on that.

Both are bad. But porn addiction normalises sexual abuse of women. Especially things like choking and "domination" among other vile and sexist themes in porn. It's not a competition for which is worse, a feminist should be against both.

The manosphere connection is definitely concerning to say the least, but porn and porn addiction is inherently anti feminist and anti woman, and we need to work together to get rid of it if we want to progress feminism.

But porn also encourages sexual abuse against women, it's not quite so cut and dry. I think that if we can get these porn addicts to desist, that Is a step in the right direction.
