Agents of the state are killing people in broad daylight. Rather than adopting even the pretense of taking time to investigate, administration officials rush to defame the dead.

Well I would argue the point that republicans were never "staunchly opposed" to any changes in gun regulation. They did in fact support bump stock restrictions during Trump's first term. Certain laws (Republican supported) make it difficult if not impossible for 1/ www.thecanary.co/trending/202...
