I would agree. Hes of a younger generation and far more knowledgeable about networking, technology, communications, drone warfare and more modern solutions. Some of the older generation are just not up for such tasks.

Can someone explain how this is really that big of a threat? I understand that it violates airspace but unless they were dirty bombs or something far more nefarious I dont see this as much of a threat to anyone but those who get cancer from the cigarettes. Balloons just seem so rudimentary.

It would be wonderful to see a 100 of these launched in one night sometime in the future. They could devastate so much Russian infrastructure since they are not easy to shoot down like drones.

The previous defense minister was an older man and not tech savvy. Fedorov is young, tech savvy and was previously in charge of "Digital transformation" which modernized the Armys technological capabilities and drones. He is a very good fit for this position and will come with many fresh ideas.

I was thinking the same. They only use them occasionally on larger targets because they are still perfecting their accuracy. In the meantime they are likely stock piling them and will update all the guidance systems once the bugs are worked out.

I assume "white lists" is obviously a way of saying verified users? How exactly does Ukraine go about disabling unverified units? Do they have lists of starlink units being used on their territory that they can go through and from that information request deactivation of all they dont approve of?

Me as well. Also far too much Elon propaganda showing up in my feed as well as excessive advertising.

Thats nice but it needs more emphasis on "Treasonous Felon".

In a perfect world it would work as a hedge on the dollar.. but thats providing you have someone who knows how to properly manage the economy.

Agreed. Any good deed Musk or Trump do is likely for their own benefit in the long run.. not a true act of goodness.

Treason is actually an executable offence in most countries.

Im sure of it. Once they were out and realized they were surrendering to a ground drone the overhead drones were there to assist and take them out if need be.

Fairly sure it was an occupied territory. Ukraine hit over a dozen targets in the occupied territories yesterday including some supply depots.

Dont misunderstand my comment.. Ukraine will prevail. I dont see it in the next several months however. It will be over the next year or two. It will happen though.
December 31, 2025 at 2:48 PM
I dont mean to be demoralizing. Western support for Ukraine has been increasing greatly over the last year. I believe it is the Russians who will be the ones to realize they cannot continue over the next few years.. not the Ukrainians.
December 31, 2025 at 2:41 PM
It will happen but many are far too optimistic in their predictions. It is something that happens over a half a decade or more.. not instantaneously. Ukraine must continue to hit Russias oil and manufacturing infrastructure to add to the sanctions and in a few more years it may be a reality.

All that sky and you lose the drone? At least he redeemed himself in the last second somewhat.

For weeks Ive been seeing radar systems taken out in Crimea. Also many have been diverted to protect the Caspian. I wonder to what extent the radar has been diminished in Crimea?
December 26, 2025 at 12:46 PM
It would have been nice to have tried to strike the drone operators (a higher value target).. but I suppose its better to protect the life of Ukrainians by taking out a loaded drone that was ready to take off and could have been used to killed Ukrainians.

Those fires must be enormous judging from the long distance its filmed from.. and the fact the fires still appear so large.
December 25, 2025 at 1:03 PM
I was here to make the same comment!
December 24, 2025 at 1:48 PM
Its fascinating that Armenia would choose to import its fuel from Azerbaijan.. a long time enemy and someone they were at war with only a year or so ago.. over Russia. It seems Russian influence in that area has faded.

I agree it "could" be repaired.. but depending on the age/ condition of the ship it may not be feasible. Many of those shadowfleet vessels are rust buckets and barely seaworthy. Add a bunch of damage to them and the cost of the repairs could surpass the value of the ship. This one took several hits.
December 20, 2025 at 12:43 AM
You are right.. however I think the risk was minimalized to the smallest extent by hitting only the equipment atop the deck and choosing not to strike the hull or attempt to sink the vessel. The ship is still seaworthy yet will be inoperational for oil transport indefinitely Im sure.

Not to mention even hitting a cope cage 15' from a submarine would likely cause major damage and put the sub out of commision Id think.
