Combining a love of F1 and weather to bring you race week forecasts and post session analysis
However there is expected to be more cloud cover at the moment which will help with track temps, will post a more accurate view before the race #ChineseGP #F1
My forecasts so far this weekend have shown lower than actual temps experienced during the sessions. Race forecast shows the highest temps expected all weekend. If the trend stays consistent then expect temps in the high 20s for the race which bodes well for a 2 stop race #ChineseGP #F1

Temps for Quali were higher than forecast by a few degrees across the session. While some improvement was down to setup, with McLaren in particular, some teams fell short of their SQ times which could be attributed to the increase in temps, most noticably Ferrari which is looking tough on tyres #F1

Williams receives the first fine of the season as a crucial part of their rear and front facing cameras was missing. The SD Card! All caused by an email miscommunication.

Air temperature will be 1-2 degrees higher for both sessions today compared to yesterday, with little cloud cover we might see a slight rise in track temps. No chance of precipitation and winds will remain low with frequent changes in direction #F1 #ChineseGP

There were some sudden changes to wind direction during Sprint Quali, while the wind speed was generally low it still has the potential to catch drivers out! #F1 #ChineseGP

A very quick and dirty comparison of the temps between FP1 and sprint quali. Bear with me as I improve my code over the weekend to make more meaningful insights into how temps are affecting tyres over a session and weekend and other fun stuff! #F1 #ChineseGP

Slowly building up more weather dashboards to incorporate the F1 weather feed along with other weather models, should have real time updates for the sessions tomorrow! #F1 #ChineseGP

FP1 and sprint quali tomorrow will see temps of 20 - 22 degrees, no precipitation and a winds up to 5m/s blowing to the east. With limited practice in cooler conditions, teams will be relying on data from Saturday's sprint which will have more representative temps to the race. #ChineseGP #F1

Doing some digging tonight to try find more info on the FIA's rain classification compared to MANOBS classification. It seems to be proprietary info but to me the info that is pushed to their info screens, e.g. Class 1: spitting/drops at times, compared to mm/hr is rather ambiguous #F1 #FIA
