We saw beautiful presentations and had wonderful discussions on dynamics, structure, disorder and LLPS in DNA repair with, in addition to Mauro, @felixrico.bsky.social, Sophie Brasselet, and Jean-Baptiste Charbonnier. Reem and I came back with many ideas.

Congratulations to Dr. Théodore Bellon! A brilliant defense today after very rich three years with @gbouvignies.bsky.social and I.
Thank you to the members of the committee, @rpierattelli.bsky.social, Sophie Zinn-Justin, @christineschmidt.bsky.social, François-Xavier Theillet and Mauro Modesti.

To accommodate family logistics, I had my 7 year old daughter attend one of my Master 2 classes on experimental methods to investigate protein dynamics. This is her interpretation of what was going on.
I find it pretty cute but I’m biased.

Kirill started his defense by a tribute to Jean-Nicolas Dumez who had accepted to be one of the reviewers of his HDR manuscript. A moving start.

My colleague Kirill Sheberstov defended his habilitation (HDR) yesterday. Both the presentation and manuscript were brilliant. Congratulations to Kirill!
A big thank you to all the members of the broad and prestigious committee.

Always a pleasure to visit friends at IBS in Grenoble!
Hopefully my trip back will be more straightforward.

Bye bye Italy! That break was most welcome. I’m excited to be back in the lab tomorrow.

Jean-Nicolas Dumez was an exceptional human being, someone whose intelligence and rigor I truly admired, committed to making the world a better place. I enjoyed every occasion to share his friendly company and witty conversation.
What a terrible loss. 💔

On my way back to Paris after a wonderful two weeks of conferences in the mountains. First the Alps, with the amazingly stimulating GRC on computational aspects of biomolecular NMR followed by the Tatra mountains for the always excellent Ampere school in Zakopane.

Trying to forget 10 minutes about the news, and enjoying my way to work before another important day.
@gbouvignies.bsky.social is defending his habilitation today. I am very much looking forward to this!

Last but not least, we concluded with an insightful discussion on scientific integrity and the fabrication of ignorance by @mathiasg.bsky.social from the department of philosophie at @normalesup.bsky.social.
What an amazing opportunity for FC-RELAX doctoral candidates!

On the third and last day of the school on high-resolution relaxometry, we’re having two excellent classes. First on relaxation in paramagnetic systems by Claudio Luchinat and Giacomo Parigi followed by @lucassiemons.bsky.social on merging MD simulations and relaxation.
March 19, 2025 at 10:35 AM
This morning, we continued with spectacular courses by Art Palmer on dynamics from NMR relaxation, and @gbouvignies.bsky.social and Nicolas Bolik-Coulon (live from Toronto) on how to integrate the Master equation.
