Ich bin ja raus aus dem Metier, deshalb jetzt eher wenig Mut erforderlich. Wichtig (und mutig!) wären klare Aussagen und Initiative von Professor:innen aus den entsprechenden Kreisen in Berlin. Denn die Vorfälle sind dort (intern und halb-öffentlich) schon teils sehr lange bekannt.

Of course a power grab of the Fed has to be prevented at all costs but because it's a mobster executive, not because political subjugation of your central bank is good or bad per se. My point is that it doesn't really matter that much either way.

To me, the proximate cause is the rise in inequality, the primary reason for the economic stagnation leading to authoritarians like Trump et al. But its rise was driven by finance, in tandem with the policy failures of the 2010s––both based on the same ideological precepts.
