🔬 Real-time imaging of plant "breathing"! 🌿💨

Stomata are tiny pores on the leaf surface that regulate gas exchange: CO₂ in, O₂ and H₂O out.

🍌 In this video, captured with our PHENOM microscope, you can see #stomata on a banana leaf in action, breathing in real time.

I’d actually recommend using VAEM (Variable Angle Epifluorescence Microscopy), where the mirror angle can be adjusted and it’s still very effective at reducing background noise!

Sorry for my late response Nat! It worked well for me with microtubule and cellulose synthase imaging. But you're right, finding the exact critical angle can be a bit tricky!
