For the past four months I have been restoring an IBM PS/1 2168. With the Checkmate monitor, I think I am done. Let's FDOOM.EXE and DUKE3D.EXE, here I come!

Disappointed with an Apple unboxing for the first time ever. On a 270MB connection, the freshly opened machine update will take 4h!

I wrote a small video-game full of bugs to demonstrate Android Studio Debugger at #androidmaker2025. The power of Compose + LiveEdit was quite enjoyable.

With pcmidi.eu Music Quest card, no more high note stuck bug from the Sound Blaster 16. The MT-32 mode of the SC-55ST work like a dream. This is beautiful.

Moving on to Chuck Yeager Air Combat. The copy protection prompts you with questions before you can start the game. The answer is somewhere in the 300 pages manual.

Installing SYNDICATE from floppies. Priceless!

Fun fact: Syndicate side proudly advertise it is "Not copy protected". Did they intend to boost the sales?

I also got my Strike Commander poster framed. The people at Art Frame Studio in Mountain View did a fantastic job, I highly recommended them. Notice how the game was announced for 1991. It actually shipped in May 1993 after four years in development and an estimated million man hours.

I have finally found the time to get my poster of Street Fighter II framed. I love Akiman's style!

Growing up, I never had the box for anything. Everything was second hand. To build my retro PC, I really treated myself. It is such a pleasure to have the manual!

30 years later, I am installing Strike Commander from the floppies...and it WORKS! I wanted to play this game on a PS/1 Dx2 66Mhz since 1993 :) !

Michael Brutman kindly sent me a floppy of mTCP. I had the good task of using an IBM disk. I eagerly put a jewel case on it. Mike's network tools (www.brutman.com/mTCP/) are gold to the retro gaming community.

The only way I have found to limit my big box purchases is to tell myself I had three shelves. And then no more. I think this time I am done.

I also found the French version of Pirates! for CPC, the actual version I played back in the days. The huge paper map added so much to the game!

I finally found it during my last trip in France. After many years of searching for it, here is the French version of Prince of Persia. The black box is gorgeous.
