Servo has always been using a multi-process (and somewhat sandboxed) model. So if you get back the support for a top-level browsing context element similar to <webview>, you'll get different processes for the system UI, the web content, and the "runtime core".

Graphene was not Servo based, it was b2g desktop with a new frontend.

The Servo one was based on a hacked <iframe mozbrowser> that is gone in the current code base and would take some effort to bring back (or an equivalent <webview> custom element).

Their specific complain is the capability to wipe your device when entering a special PIN code, which would be GrapheneOS specific. (it's a good feature!)

November 20, 2025 at 7:01 PM
Sure, I know that. But *you* are talking about these infringing orgs. It's important to be clear on who they are, because without that we can't help you make your case.

Do you mind listing these projects?
November 20, 2025 at 6:49 PM

That's not a smart way to defend yourself. Now we want to know how you figured out who are these "below 1%" of your userbase that are criminals. And the last sentence is useless provocation, whether that's the reality or not. You're shooting yourself in the foot here...

Never understood why Moz was not building a premium sync product with higher storage capacity (and also syncing stuff like downloads).

No, but if you manage to hook up your system to their auth, you may have something. I need to play around to convince myself, but |ATProto auth + a small bootstraping lexicon -> something else| could be possible? It's just another layer of indirection away :)

The main strength (today) of ATProto is that a bunch of people already have an account. Everything else is ... ok-ish, but not really remarkable.
