I think we may be talking past each other. I’m not disputing Dems are responding now, and I give them credit for framing it more broadly. My point: institutional reform language tends to emerge after crises, so much of what we see is speaking around the crux instead of about it as a standing agenda.

Perhaps I wasn't very clear at the outset.I’m not saying Dems aren’t speaking. I’m saying they’ve mostly been speaking around the crux instead of about it. Kitchen-table issues matter, but they’re not a substitute for a coherent reform vision when democratic institutions themselves are under strain.

Maybe Cooked, if one believes he won't continue to subvert our democracy at every turn and elections somehow manage to take place without major incident.

I'm not holding my breath.

They didn't invest this much energy and bad faith to simply let it go.

Sure there are some, but are there enough?

I get that not everyone is a Jamie Raskin in terms of their ability to speak to Constitutional abstractions in depth, but why is it always just the same relatively small handful out of a field of 435 that make it on the major networks every now and then?

And how.

Why should it be that hard for Dems to speak up?

Did Fox ever echo or originate such false claims?

Paywall'd from the authoritarian crackdown.

Will there be anything to pay for if it succeeds?

Be that as it may, perhaps we need an equivalent the Guardian Angles for members of Congress and Judges?
