Im reminded of my time living in intentional community. I now see how that long game can be a bulwark against some of societies banal offerings. It comes with it’s own flavor packet of issues, that’s for sure. But sharpening oneself against sincere people has merit.

I imagine what roman citizens of a similar class (educated, technical, outsider ethnic) would have been doing. Probably the same, just going about their day to day, trying to do their best by family and friends. Looking for entertainment, distraction, moments of value, meaningful interactions.

My thoughts and prayers are def not with the Tea’s. But I do throw my weight behind people getting actual representation, no matter how much I disagree. That way their ideas can be address within congress in public, instead of behind federalist doors. Or Scotus chambers…..

Agree and agree. Personally I place some of the blame on Ross Perot. If he had the guts to start a third party (with his 5% natl) it might have pulled in the tea party and given them the actual 15% they represent. Which might have allowed the GOP to splinter towards fiscal conservatism.

Hi thejeff. These answers are really prey to tit-for-tat and goalpost moving responses, but I’m trying anyway. No where else is like the US.
1) Portugal
2) Build a third party slowly until relevant in state and local elections. Use leverage and long game to play kingmaker in nationals.

Check out what’s already out there already. Look at their funding models and listener engagement, learn from them. Learn the history of how the right started buying up licenses and trying out different voices to see who fit where.
Set your intention. Gather resources. Push hard. Pivot and iterate.

When all is said and done, I strive for clear, interesting folding order, clean finish, and the achievement of the goals I set myself. If I fall short of my goal, I demand to know why, Tomoko Fuse, Unit Origami, Multidimensional Transformations. 1990 Japan Press

Even in such instances, practice makes perfect. Folding and refolding something that is not easy eliminates much of the trouble and insecurity. But familiarity can breed contempt and whether facility gained through repeated practice is necessarily good depends on the case in hand.

But I cannot make up my mind whether to put beauty or ease of folding first because sometimes, folds that are lovely when finished are hard to produce and therefore unstable and likely to cause mistakes.

Working at Scampi’s Pizza in Austin. We had 2 machines, Pong and Pacman. I remember when they brought in Ms Pacman. It was mind blowing.

And if the speaker calls his bluff and says, “because the specific media who represent my constituents voices and opinions have shown over and over that this is what they get fired up by”. What then? Claim that opinion isn’t true? Call them out and say they don’t represent all opinions?

Nothing is too precious to be of use as we go through our days, as long as it can be hosed off.
